A new vision for the automobile.
William Durant brings his ambition for a family of automotive brands to life. General Motors is incorporated on 16 September 1908. Cadillac joins the group in 1909.
GM Heritage1911
The Chevrolet name takes the road.
Racing driver and engineer Louis Chevrolet and William Durant establish Chevrolet Motor Company. A new chapter in American motoring begins.
GM Heritage2022
GM Specialty Vehicles is born.
General Motors creates a dedicated Specialty Vehicles business to bring its full-size American models to markets outside North America as factory-backed imports.

GMSV arrives in the United Kingdom.
GMSV UK opens with Cadillac and Chevrolet, appointing dealers in London, Leeds, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Oxford to sell and service the range.
